How does a water burial urn work?
Asked 3 years ago
My dad always said that he wanted to be scattered in the ocean when he died, but the problem is that our sea is very windy, and his ashes will go everywhere. I found something called a water burial urn. How do they work? Do they float in the water forever?

A water burial urn is designed to scatter the ashes once it's already in the ocean. This special all-natural burial urn is designed to float upright like a buoy when placed in water. After a short while, the bottom portion that is submerged in water dissolves and releases the ashes, freeing them to spread underwater.

A water burial urn is designed to float upright, like a buoy. These urns are designed to break down relatively quickly when they're placed into water. The bottom of the water burial urn will dissolve within a short while, and the cremains will slowly be released into the water. The rest of the urn will also dissolve away eventually.
