How much volume should my pet's urn have to fit a large dog?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi everyone, my Snowflake (dog) is really sick, and the vet suggested we put him down. I'm currently going through so much trying to figure out the best way to memorialize Snowflake's companionship of 15 years. I decided to have her cremated, but I'm not sure of the size of the urn I should get since she's a big dog (Great Dane). What capacity do dog urns come in?

I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved furry friend. The general rule is for every pound of your dog's total body weight, you will need one cubic inch of space. It's also a good idea to have an extra 10 cubic inches for good measure. For example, if your dog weighs 70 pounds, you will need an urn that is 80 cubic inches or larger.
