Should we turn our dad’s urn into a companion urn?
Asked 3 years ago
Very sadly my mom just passed away and, like my father, we had her cremated. Me and my siblings are really struggling to decide whether we should buy an urn for my mother’s ashes and keep it next to my dad’s urn – or – should we go the alternate route of purchasing a companion urn and keeping both their ashes together. Our folks were happily married for 42 years, which is why we came up with this idea. But we could really use some other opinions about whether turning my father’s urn into a companion urn is disrespectful or a great idea. We’d love to hear your advice. Thanks!

Choosing an urn for your parents need not be a stressful process. You can browse the selection of individual and companion urns on the Trupoint Memorials website. When you find the perfect companion urn, simply transfer your father's ashes with his spouse into the new companion urn to honor both of their lives.
