Does it take long for a body to be cremated?
Asked 4 years ago
We are learning about cremation in my religious studies class and I have a lot of questions that I'm too shy to ask my teacher. For example, does it take long for a body to be cremated?

The cremation itself takes around 3 to 4 hours, with 1 to 2 hours after that for processing. It takes between 1400 and 1800 degrees Fahrenheit to cremate remains, and once the body is reduced to its bone fragments and basic elements, it needs to cool for a while before being placed in a temporary urn.
