How long does it take to arrange a cremation?

My aunt recently passed away. My mom told us that it was her wish to be cremated after her death. I want to help my mom arrange the cremation, but I have a lot of questions that I need answered. How long does it take to arrange a cremation?

The entire timeframe for cremation can take anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks from start to finish. This includes any waiting periods, authorization, and actual cremation. The cremation itself takes around 3 to 4 hours, with 1 to 2 hours after that for processing. However, with the increase of pressure on crematoriums, it may take between 10 days and 3 weeks to get an appropriate slot.
