Is it illegal for my partner and I to share an urn if we decide to be cremated?
Asked 3 years ago
I've been making plans for the future with my spouse, and when the time comes, we want to be buried next to each other. I've been researching urn sizes because I want to buy something big to hold both of our remains. I'm unsure if this is the best approach to grant our requests. Is it illegal for us to share a large urn?

Whether it is legal or not depends entirely on where you live. However, a companion urn is typically designed to have two separate compartments within the same urn. This ensures that you and your partner share the same urn and can be buried together, but your ashes are not necessarily mixed together.
