Can I still have my ashes placed in an extra-large urn with those of my deceased partner?

Asked 2 years ago

My partner recently passed away due to old age. We had planned to have our remains cremated and interred together. I bought one extra-large urn for each of us, but I'm unsure if I can put them together when it's my time. Is it possible to share an extra-large urn with my deceased partner's cremains?

It will depend on how large your urn is. The general rule for calculating urn size is for every one pound of body weight, you need one cubic inch of urn space. If you and your partner have a combined body weight that will fit in the urn you bought, then there shouldn't be any issues.
