Do any religions prohibit cremation?
Asked 3 years ago
I wonder if there are any religions that don't allow you to be cremated in death at all. I know that lots of religions believe you need to be buried, not cremated. Are there any religions that prohibit cremation?

Islam has very strict views that prohibit cremation. Of all religions, Islamism is the most strongly and universally opposed to the practice. Orthodox and Conservative Judaism also prohibits cremation, but some followers of Liberal or Reform Judaism are more willing to accept cremation. Catholics do not favor cremation but will permit it as long as certain guidelines are followed.
