Is it bad to keep a pet's ashes at home?

Asked 3 years ago

I had my little dog cremated, and I kept him in my bedroom. Not long after that, my gran came to visit my parents and me for a couple of days, and she learned that I still have my little dog's ashes. Needless to say, she was horrified and said that I would be bringing bad juju into the house. Is this true? Should I rather not keep the ashes in our home? Tia!

There is no right or wrong when it comes to keeping, burying, or scattering your dog's ashes. Keeping ashes in your home can be a comforting and meaningful way to still feel connected to your little dog. There is no energy in the cremated ashes and as long as you don't believe it will bring bad juju there shouldn't be anything to be concerned about.

There is no evidence to suggest that ashes carry any sort of energy despite the superstitions. If you have felt safe with your dog's ashes in your home and you don't personally believe they bring bad juju, then there shouldn't be anything to worry about. Keeping ashes is a personal choice that people make all the time.
