Can an aluminum burial urn be cleaned with an abrasive cleaning cloth?

Asked 3 years ago

Hi, I had my mother dearest cremated when she passed and a burial urn made for her ashes. It's been standing on my shelf for about a week now, and I can see that the urn is collecting dust. It occurred to me then that I had never thought of how to clean it. Can I use an abrasive cleaning cloth with polish spray, or will it get scratched?

Aluminum is a softer metal that can scratch easily. The best and easiest way to clean your aluminum urn is to use a feather duster or a soft dusting cloth with light pressure. A simple wipe in the direction of the polish lines with a gentle cloth should be enough to remove the dust particles.
