My family and I want to bury the urn with my grandfather's ashes. It is inside an urn vault. How deep must the final resting place for an urn vault be?

An urn, whether in a vault or not, should be buried at least 3 feet deep. This does not apply to every location but can be used as a general guideline. If that depth is not possible, you should ensure that there is at least 6 to 12 inches of soil covering the vault.
