Can you bury an urn on top of a casket?

Hi everyone, can cremated remains be buried with another person? We had my gran cremated (because that's what he wanted), and my grandpa did not want the same for himself. Would it be possible to bury the urn on top of the casket?

Yes but it does depend on the cemetery’s policy. Most cemeteries will allow you to bury an urn on top of a casket or utilize the space provided next to the other person. Cemeteries also allow for the cremains of multiple people to be buried into a single graved space.

You can bury an urn on top of a casket in most situations, however, it is all dependent on the cemetery's policies where the casket is buried. Many cemeteries allow the burial of an urn on top or even next to a casket.
