How do you choose an urn for ashes that will be kept at home?

There are so many choices out there that I don't know where to even begin. What helped you to choose?

Generally, 1 pound of body weight translates to 1 cubic inch of ashes but it's also suggested to get an urn that is a little larger. Think about the kind of material you'd prefer like wood, marble, metal, or brass. You can also opt for an urn that reminds you of your loved one with a decorative theme or design to fit their personality.

The best place to begin is by thinking about your departed loved one and what they enjoyed as well as what their personality was like. If they were soft and caring, a delicate-looking urn with an intricate pattern could work. If they enjoyed golf, perhaps a themed urn would be best. Urns for display are usually made from stone, ceramic, or porcelain but you can also decide on a material that resonates with you the most.
