What is appropriate to wear to a funeral?
Asked 2 years ago
I am attending a funeral in three days time. It's the first funeral I've ever been to and I'm quite nervous. I plan on wearing black clothes, but I don't know what kind of style to wear. Casual? Formal? Semi-formal? Can I wear high heels? Is it inappropriate to show my legs? Are skirts appropriate? I have no idea! Please someone tell me what is appropriate to wear to a funeral? Thanks!

Generally, funeral attire consists of black or dark clothing that's conservative and respectful. You can wear heels but be mindful that there may be grass at the funeral. It is okay to show your legs, provided the skirt is still an appropriate length. Think of what you would wear to a meeting in a corporate office. Semi-formal is typically okay.
